Giving Thanks
Thanksgiving is here again. What are you thankful for?
It's that time of year again to sit back and reflect upon what is important to you and give thanks for what you have. How do the furry friends in your life come into play? Many pet owners are thankful to have a friend that will love them unconditionally, keep their secrets safe, and stay by their side through both joyous and difficult times.
Here are some of the stories friends of HBSPCA shared with us about their loving pets and what they are most thankful for:
- Having been through abuse (both of us), and being separated for months (Bart went to the OSPCA, vet for kennelling, and boarding kennel while I was at the women's shelter)...I'm very thankful he was taken care of in my absence. Most of all, I'm thankful he's back with me. Seeing him when I wake up is a blessing.
- That he makes me absolutely happy in every way, I couldn’t be more thankful for both my doggies.
- I'm thankful that Betty and Judy wait for us to come home, that they can play "fetch" and that they love to cuddle.
- I’m thankful that in a spur of the moment decision, I went up to your facility 5ish years ago when a truckload of dogs arrived from Louisiana. There I met Pineville (quickly changed to Polly, with no identity crisis issues) who is now a valuable member of our family.
- I'm thankful that my dog, Spanky, is always happy to see me come home. Seeing her tail wag so hard brings me a lot of joy!
- I am happy that we found Rudy! He is the most joyful dog in the world! Thanks SPCA!
A big thank you goes out to our supporters and friends for sharing these stories with us on Facebook and Twitter. HBSPCA is so thankful for the generosity of our donors and endless support of all of our hardworking volunteers and staff. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with your (human and non-human!) friends and family.
