Happy Birthday Hamilton/Burlington SPCA!

It’s not an April Fool’s joke, today is our birthday! Can you help make our birthday wish come true? Pledge $5 to help one of the many pets currently awaiting their fur-ever home in the shelter. Every dollar pledged makes a life-changing difference for pets like Gizzy! Gizzy is a 9 year old Shih Tzu, who was rescued by an HBSPCA Protection Officer following a call from a concerned resident. Her condition shocked even the most seasoned members of the HBSPCA rescue and care teams. Gizzy was overweight, her hair dirty and heavily matted, and she was unable to walk. The heavy matt had cut off blood supply in one leg; the limb had died and was decomposing. Gizzy was suffering from a melting ulcer in one eye. Her teeth were rotted. To ease her pain, she was fully shaved, her leg was amputated and her damaged eye removed. Because people care, Gizzy is now on the road to recovery. She is walking, her coat is growing back and, she is pain free.

For the past 132 years, the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA has been protecting, rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need. Countless animal’s lives have been touched, thanks to the generous support of our community. Thank you for your commitment to being a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. 🐾
