Meow! My name is Wasabi and I’ve got a tail to tell – one which is pretty common for my friends here at the shelter.
Earlier this year, my people brought me and my family – all 10 of us – to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA. I was scared, and I knew my people were worried. Earlier, we were told there were too many of us in our home – my Mom had never been fixed and our family had grown too fast.
My people told us we were going to get help. They learned that they were eligible for $20 cat spays at the HBSPCA Companion Animal Hospital, subsidized by the nice folks at PetSmart Charities of Canada. But what would happen to us 6 very tiny kittens? The HBSPCA purr-omised to find us homes.
I hear that thanks to donations from people like you, we were able to grow healthy and strong with our foster family – they were pawsitively wonderful! When we grew a bit bigger, we got to see our friends at the HBSPCA Companion Animal Hospital again! We were spayed or neutered (depending if it was a sister or brother), vaccinated and microchipped (you know, so we can get back home if we’re ever lost). Did you know that the clinic has helped about 4,500 animals in just this way this year alone?
And you know what? Our friends at the HBSPCA kept their purr-omise – each and every one of us was adopted! I got lucky – I’ll be home for Christmas and so will my sisters, brothers and mother. They tell me donors made this possible.
Thank you! On behalf of all my friends at the HBSPCA, we wish you a very “Meowy” Christmas and a Happy New Year!
PS. You know, I made a lot of friends at the shelter, and they need your help, especially at this time of year! Would you make a year-end gift to change more of my friends’ lives so they can be as lucky as me? You will get a charitable tax receipt in return for your generosity!
