We take our educational mandate very seriously…but you’d never know to see the smiles on the faces of the audience. Whether you bring your group to us or arrange for us to visit you, we make learning meaningful…and fun!
Get a behind-the-scenes peek
Bring your class, club or daycare to our Dartnall Road facility for a behind-the-scenes look at the important work we do at the HBSPCA. Our tours are educational and entertaining outings for children and adults—we tailor the tour to suit the audience. We charge a nominal tour visit fee to support our humane education programming.

We go on tour, too!
Let us bring our expertise in humane education—and a furry friend—to your classroom or group by booking one of our hour-long presentations. Topics can include pet care, classroom pets, staying safe around animals, wild animals in Hamilton and Burlington, being kind to your pet, animal cruelty and the responsibilities of pet ownership. We generally speak to children aged 16 and under…but we’re happy to present to groups of any age.
Educators love our flexible scheduling and our ability to customize our presentations to help them meet curriculum expectations. Teachers often gain new insights into individual students when they see them with an animal.
Students love the interactive nature of our presentations—we get kids thinking, asking and moving.
The star of the show, of course, is always the animal we bring with us on tour, whether it’s a rabbit, guinea pig or dog.
The nominal fee we charge for our community and classroom presentations helps to support our humane education programming.
