There are currently no postings for volunteers at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.
Please check back periodically for any changes.
Watch for shout outs for help with window cleaning, garden care, and weeding.
The Times of COVID have changed how all of us live, work and play in our homes, neighbourhoods, and workplaces. It is no different at the HBSPCA.
The requirements of health and safety for customers, volunteers and staff mean fewer people on site and no gatherings in public.
Our volunteers lend time and talent to a range of activities, all for the animals. At this time, there are no clinics, classes and public registrations in the community for spay and neuter surgeries for owned pets. Physical distancing means for now, no volunteers in our Companion Animal Hospital and in our kennels. We do have dog walkers socialising and exercising dogs in care and additional walkers are not required at this time. And there is no bingo in the community, nor coin boxes in various retail locations.
Taking Care of the Animals
The HBSPCA is operating with reduced numbers of Staff. Nimble at every turn, the HBSPCA is matching pet companions with new families through “no contact adoptions”, receiving owned pets and street cats for surgery through curbside drop off and pick up, providing telemedicine services, supporting pets and their families at the end of life, and as always, receiving animals with urgent and emergency needs.
