In light of the numerous challenges faced by our community, the need for accessible veterinary care has become more pressing than ever. The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA is committed to ensuring that all pet guardians have the opportunity to provide essential healthcare to their beloved pets, regardless of their financial situation.

 In recent years, many families have experienced significant economic hardships, making it difficult for them to afford regular veterinary services. These financial strains can lead to a lack of routine and preventative care for pets, potentially resulting in more severe health issues down the line. Our Mission: Bridging the Gap

 While we strongly encourage all pet guardians to establish a relationship with a primary care veterinary hospital for ongoing medical care, we understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly. Job losses, reduced income, and other unforeseen events can limit access to veterinary services. Our Pet Health Outreach Clinics are designed to bridge this gap by providing essential preventative healthcare services at a minimal cost.

Services Offered at the Pet Health Outreach Clinics

Our Pet Health Outreach Clinics offer comprehensive services to ensure the well-being of pets. For a nominal fee of $25, pet guardians can access the following services:

Full Exam:

A thorough examination by a qualified veterinarian to assess the overall health of the pet and identify any potential health issues.

‍

Core Vaccines:

‍ Administration of essential vaccines, including Rabies, FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia for cats), and DA2PP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza for dogs), to protect pets from common and potentially deadly diseases.

Flea Prevention:

A dose of flea prevention medication to protect pets from flea infestations and related health problems.

‍

Microchip:‍

Implantation of a microchip to help reunite lost pets with their guardians. Microchipping is a reliable and permanent method of pet identification.

Broad Spectrum Dewormer:‍

Administration of a deworming treatment to eliminate a variety of intestinal parasites, ensuring the pet's digestive health and overall well-being.
