Since 1887, the Hamilton Burlington SPCA (HBPSCA) has stood as a beacon of hope and healing for over 250,000 animals. Our journey, rich with history and heartfelt service, has been nothing short of inspirational. In 1996, we embarked on a transformative journey, moving to a facility that signified a new era of animal welfare, in partnership with the City of Hamilton. This move catalyzed an exponential growth in our capacity, enabling us to touch the lives of countless more animals and their human companions.

Today, our shelter stands as a sanctuary for up to 100 animals at a time, a testament to our enduring commitment. But our mission extends beyond our walls; daily, we foster over 100 animals, and collaborate with other facilities to ensure every creature in our care finds a haven. Our Companion Hospital has flourished, doubling its impact, now at the brink of its capacity, offering solace and healing to many, with over 40 surgeries daily and comprehensive end-of-life and wellness services.
As we reflect on our storied past and the monumental strides we've made, our spirit of innovation and compassion shines brighter than ever. Yet, the call of the future beckons us to expand, to stretch our wings wider in service of our growing community. The needs are evolving, extending beyond the confines of bricks and mortar, urging us to broaden our horizons and deepen our impact.
